First Season for you? Q&A

Q: What should I bring with me?

A: This list is directed to those who plan on hiking a lot that do not have a car and are making the trip here by bus and or plane.

3 pairs of pants
3 pairs of shorts
8 shirts
2 long sleeve shirts
1 hoodie
1 winter and summer jacket
swimsuit
casual shoes
hiking boots/5 fingers/boots
socks
underwear
toothbrush
CAMERA: Not essential, but it's hard to not take a good picture here!
Deodorant
Makeup if you are into that sort of stuff-There are pub parties!
shampoo
soap

I would stock up on the last two since the nearest "super market" is Bozeman. You do have the General Stores but you can save money by stocking up. If you're in Mammoth, Gardiner is down the road but more expensive then Wal-mart.

Those are your essentials right there. You can fit it in one suitcase, make sure to roll shirts and all to save room or grab the bags that you can seal with a vacuum to help save space. The Rec Department sells shirts, hats, water bottles and sometimes long sleeves and hoodies.

I'm a smoker, I would recommend, to buy a carton or two before coming out. Once again Gardiner is not cheap.

You pick your uniform up after check in and have the option of buying "Shoes for Cruise" which will be deducted from your first paycheck. It saves room and the shoes should last if not one season...two. Bear Spray is a must but can be picked up from your rec. dept. for dirt cheap.

Things to consider bringing are:
Backpacking Backpack
Tent
Hammock
Sleeping Bag
Jet Boiler
Head Lamp
Waterproof Bags
CAMERA-Seriously!
Fly fishing or reel pole
Computer/Laptop
A Book

Now if you are driving think about DORM life and what essentials you may want...
Boxed Fan
Mini Fridge
TV
Microwave
Gaming System
A board game
Disc Golf Discs
Hack Saw/Axe
