The Yellowstone National Park Archive building is one of ten that belongs to the National Archives in the United States. The building is fairly new, maybe a year or two old and is filled with SOOOO much history of the park.
The first place the tour took us was into their old document room. They had very old books and some letters. The room and all the other rooms have keypads and high tech security to get through them. The whole building is controlled with humidity and temperature to keep everything preserved. Back to the first room...It was a fairly small room with three bookshelves that had their own temperature settings and all that fancy stuff. (Pictures at the bottom).
The next room was very big. They had furniture, skulls, paintings, taxidermy, fossils, rocks/obsidian and all sorts of cool old things from the park.
The final room we visited was filled with the old transportation vehicles. Everything from old horse wagons to the first cars to a firetruck that was decommissioned after the 88 fires.
