Last weekend I tried to go to the East entrance and found some people who wanted to join. As soon as we hit Roosevelt Junction it started to pour. We went inside the lodge to try and wait it out but it seemed like it was going rain for ever. We thought, "We can beat it," So we hopped in the truck and to a right out of Roosevelt and hoped for the best.
Well, we made it a mile or so down the road when it down poured. It rained so hard that I had to pull the truck over and wait it out. Mean while, John, Blake and Brenadetta were in the back taking a shower. Then...Well then the skies laughed at us and said, are you sure you want to go and we responded with a yes. So then it started to hail. While the three were getting pelted in the back of the truck, Janaea and I were warm and dry in the cab. After we stopped laughing the storm died down to a down pour and we headed back.

One week later....
Yesterday I woke up went to the bank and was on the road by 10am. Just me and the park and I was determined to get to the east road. There were plenty of tourons driving way below the limit but I didn't care much because I knew I was going to make it.
I past Hayden Valley with ease and to a left at Fishing Bridge. I made it past Pelican Valley and saw no such creatures there. I continued the drive and the road hugged the shore line of Yellowstone Lake. I don't know why it took me so long to make this trip over here but I was in "aw" like the first time I saw the park. After seeing new beauty in the landscape it made me remember why I continue to come back. I went up to Lake Butte Overlook and just enjoyed it thoroughly

Looking North. There were many shots I took up here but this is by far my favorite one. |
