New Year

A new year approaches us as we circle the sun one more time. The past year was a blast and filled with many memories. Here are a list of twelve moments, one from each month, that I will cherish til the end of my days.

Jan.  Skiing with Maddie, Stephania and Dennis on the upper terraces.
Feb. Walking the Terraces for the first time in Mammoth Hot Springs and finding the true beauty in my immediate back yard.
Mar. Going to Lamar with Andrew and Craig and seeing a wolf cross the street 50 feet in front of us.
Apr.  Hanging out with Bobby in California.
May  Seeing five bears in 20 minutes with Kelli.
June  Being in a relationship that ended with friendship.
July   Hiking to Heart Lake with Missy and Sam
Aug. Upgrading to an SLR.
Sept. The trips to Lamar with Terry, Katie, Melissa, Jenna, Bobby, Scott and all the others.
Oct.  The snow storm that killed the power and snowball fights, snowmen and shenanigans were held.
Nov.  Visiting friends and family on my break.

December is filled with a mixture of everything one could ask for. Skyping with the family, meeting new people and just having fun. I can say that I have drank a lot less then the previous winter. Last night we went rather hard and today I felt it and I asked myself, "Why did I do that?"

Plans for the new year are simple. Drink less beer/wine/liquor/soda, the possible chance of quitting smoking is there, hike a lot, have fun and be happy. Lastly, I need to stay with this blog and keep it from fizzling out. By doing so, I should be able to accomplish everything I previously typed. Continued support from comments, views and shares help me do this.

Below are two pictures from different seasons. The one from summer was one of the first pictures I took with my point and shoot. I can see that I have come a long way from taking pictures and everyone else can now see the difference side by side.

In about 3 hours I will be decorating the pub for another fun New Year's Eve Party. I say to all of you, have happy and safe New Year and thank you again for the support.

  1. Happy New Year, MacK! 2013 sounded pretty good and I hope it all continues in 2014. You never said, but did you get a new Christmas ornament from the park/Xanterra this year?

  2. OH, I did. It's a wooden circle with a bear print through it. It's made out of cedar. I still like my bear more for last year.

  3. Liked your month recap. Happy New Year had to pass on golf today, didn't. Want to give my cold to others.
