During the shut down of the U.S. government shutdown...
January 2nd 2014
The new year went off with a bang. I had such a great time with friends/coworkers in the employee pub. Posted below is a picture minutes after we rang in the new year.
The new year has been amazing to me. I met two different people who share the same love I do: Photography. One is from a family of four and the other traveled to the park with his father. Each one has amazing pictures of their vacation that I "awed" in. I hope that my weekend will result in at least half of what they experienced in a week or just a little longer.
Each photographer has either an eye or a set of skills, (No, not Liam Nesson skills...), that allows them to produce an art which is their own. I admired both peoples photography to a point where I wish I could call-in sick or pass the time by so that I could do what they have done; take photos that inspire.
Regardless, I hope both individuals continue to take photography past the level that they are shooting. Seriously, they had amazing photos that I wish I could experience. In two weeks time I will be purchasing a vehicle from a friend and be able to be free from Mammoth at my own will and have the opportunities to purse such greatness. Both have seen my blog and one even said, "It would be an honor if you would look at my photos." For me to hear that was more than... I still cannot come up with words that describes what I felt. It is truly amazing that a guest admired what I have photographed in my time here and asked for my opinion. I really cannot get past that.
I do wish the two of them the best opportunities that they can have and hope that their skill and hobby will not fade away.
On a side note. I went to the employee pub tonight and had a few drinks with friends. While exiting the pub, the sound of wind roared through the street. Two friends walked with me a little ways before leaving for a different dorm and I was by myself. From the Employee Dining Room (EDR) to my dorm the wind howled. I would look down while walking and take a glimpse ahead only to see the snow almost hit the ground before it was carried into the black night. It was one of the windiest/coldest nights/mornings that I have had to walk in. While I type, the harsh wind knocks against the 2nd floor wall of my dorm room demanding that I open the window so that it can be apart of my life. As the wind continues to hit the wall, I run out of dialogue and leave you with this...
Thank you all for reading, but until another adventure or wonderful experience, I say, "Good Day".
Looking forward to more -
ReplyDeleteA good day to you, sir! There is nothing like a newfound passion to set the juices flowing. Keep up the writing and the photos. Keep your coat zipped to keep that pesky wind out!
