This past week was filled with back to back shifts which I am now thankful for due to car problems. We were hit with a lot of snow for Mammoth. Typically Mammoth doesn't get a "dumping" of snow like we just did and as I type more continues to fall.
I finally made it out of the park to Chico Hot Springs for a much needed break from the park. I drove Matilda out there but had some issues. She seems to have a temper. I would too if my water pump had blown. :( Regardless, I drove her all the way there stopping every so often so the engine wouldn't seize. Now that we were in the parking lot of Chico, we ran for the warmth and hopped in the pool where other Mammoth people were. Fun was had by all and relaxation had kicked in. Sometimes that's what park employees need; a break from the workplace and dorms.
The next day, (Monday), was spent recuperating and contacting a towing company and auto place. It's not cheap to fix but will last for some time...Like I said, I'm thankful for working all those hours, and another two weeks of working myself to the bitter end will hopefully pay off rather well.
The plans for tonight are unknown but I know it will be of R&R. Perhaps cleaning the room, laundry and some type of simple, (HA!), photography. Until the next time I am inspired to write, take care, stay warm and be you!

ReplyDeleteIt was nice to meet you at Mammoth last week. (We were the couple from Kansas who were heading to Tower, then home). Looking forward to reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteWondering what's up at Yellowstone. Don't suppose there are signs of spring there yet?
